New traffic signals go live next week on Louisville Road at US 17 off-ramp

SAVANNAH, GA - Georgia DOT announces Wednesday, November 12 activation of a new signalized intersection on Louisville Road at the off-ramp from US 17/SR 404 Spur.

The new signalized intersection is permitted through a special encroachment permit with Georgia Ports Authority adding a fourth leg to this t-intersection allowing access to the port. Contractors have installed and bagged the new signals. Message boards will be placed to alert motorists of this new traffic signal location and activation date. Local law enforcement will handle traffic control during activation to enhance safety. This signal activation is weather contingent and subject to change.

Motorists are reminded to pay special attention to traffic control devices, signs and posted speed limits to ensure safe passage through the new traffic signal location.

Advisory: Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
