85+ Better Celebration Brings Joy to the Community

On Sunday, May 3rd, the San Rafael Community Center was filled with laughter, music, and celebration as close to 130 older adults and their loved ones gathered for the annual 85+ Better Celebration. Held during Older Americans Month, the event was the perfect opportunity to honor and recognize the wisdom, contributions, and vibrant spirit of our senior community members.

The afternoon was made even more special with Vice Mayor Rachel Kertz serving as Master of Ceremonies, warmly welcoming guests and helping lead the festivities. Music filled the room as everyone joined together to sing Happy Birthday, followed by enjoying a delicious birthday cake.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the City of San Rafael Childcare Division for creating beautiful decorations of colorful flowers and handcrafted placemats that brightened the room and made guests feel extra special.

A huge shoutout and sincere appreciation go to Carol Jacob Courtz, Program Coordinator for the San Rafael Goldenaires Program, and Azadeh Honarmand from City of San Rafael's Recreation division for their dedication and hard work in planning such a wonderful celebration for our cherished older adults.
