Representative Carl Gillard Announces ‘Increase the Peace Tour’ Events Presented by CCGPIC and the City of Savannah

ATLANTA - State Representative Carl Gillard (D-Savannah) announces the launch of the five-stop "Increase the Peace Tour," organized by the Chatham County Gang Prevention and Intervention Commission (CCGPIC) and the City of Savannah Recreation and Leisure Services Department. The first event will take place TODAY, Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the John S Delaware Center in Savannah. The rest of the events are included below:

• Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Windsor Forest Center in Savannah, Georgia;
• Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the W.W. Law Center in Savannah, Georgia;
• Friday, May 29, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Moses Jackson Grant Center in Savannah, Georgia;
• Monday, June 1, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Tompkins Regional Center in Savannah, Georgia.

Through these events, the CCGPIC and the City of Savannah Recreation and Leisure Services Department seek to create a citywide community outreach initiative to focus on youth engagement, violence prevention, mentorship and neighborhood unity.

Each event will include live music, interactive games, community engagement activities, mentorship opportunities, violence prevention messaging and a free pizza party for youth and families.

The Chatham County Gang Prevention & Intervention Commission seeks to work collaboratively with community leaders, schools, organizations, families and local stakeholders to reduce violence, provide intervention resources and create positive pathways for youth and families throughout Chatham County.
