Reminder to Accurately Report Postoperative Visits

Last week, CMS reminded practitioners that they are required to report postoperative evaluation and management visits provided to Medicare patients if the practitioner practices in a group of 10 or more practitioners in any of these states: Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, and Rhode Island. CMS also stated those who do not meet these criteria are still encouraged to report these post-operative visits. CMS provides guidance on how to report postoperative visits in its Global Surgery Booklet.
