On September 26, in New York, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered remarks at the Conference on Facilitating the Entry into Force of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.
The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized the commitment of Armenia to advancing the non-proliferation agenda and the CTBT objectives.
The imperative of ensuring an adequate international response and assuming commitments in line with the emerging challenges and evolving dynamics in the current global security environment was underscored.
In his remarks, Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan called upon those States that have not yet signed and ratified the Treaty to do so at the earliest opportunity, recalling, in this vein, the Resolution on Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, co-sponsored by Armenia and adopted within the framework of the UN.
The Deputy Foreign Minister also touched upon the importance of advancing capacity-building initiatives aimed at enhancing the effective implementation of the commitments envisaged under the Treaty.
