Military equipment convoys will continue to travel on national roads throughout this period, between the main training areas where the exercise is conducted, and the main forces of Multinational Division South-East Headquarters (MND-SE HQ) will deploy to these areas on Friday, October 24th.

The Romanian authorities, in cooperation with the NATO allies, have taken all necessary measures to ensure the safe conduct of transportation, limit the impact on road traffic and provide appropriate information to the population in transit areas.

DAFA25 aims to operationally integrate the participating forces provided by the contributing nations, mainly France and Romania, and marks the final stage of the temporary scale up of the NATO Battle Groups in Romania and Bulgaria to brigade-size units.

The French troops and means of equipment participating in the exercise have successfully arrived on Romanian territory, concluding the strategic movement phase, and the contributing nations' troops, including the Romanian ones, are moving to the training areas, in order to be integrated into the command structures, intended to ensure interoperability and efficient coordination among the participating nations. The exercise will then continue with the execution phase, which will test the capacity to plan, conduct and synchronize operations under the command of NATO's Headquarters Multinational Division South-East.

NATO exercises, including DAFA25, have a defensive nature and are conducted in full compliance with the international commitments undertaken by Romania.
