Chinese Ambassador to Guyana Yang Yang Attends Guyana China Friendship Society's Chinese New Year Gala

On February 10, 2026, HE Ambassador Yang Yang attended the Chinese New Year Gala hosted by the Guyana China Friendship Society (GCFS) along with Guyanese Prime Minister, Honorary President of the Guyana China Friendship Society, Mark Phillips and members of the society.

In her remarks, Ambassador Yang commended GCFS's endeavour to boost people-to-people exchanges, promote Chinese culture in Guyana, and make significant contributions to fostering mutual understanding, friendship between two peoples. In the new year, Ambassador Yang sincerely hopes that GCFS will achieve new successes in enhancing bilateral friendship, deepening cooperation, and fostering people-to-people bonds, serving as a witness, participant of, and contributor to building a China-Guyana community with a shared future.

Prime Minister Phillips extended New Year blessings to the overseas Chinese community in Guyana and to the people of all ethnic groups in China. He highly commended the Guyana China Friendship Society for its active role in promoting people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, praised the tremendous contributions made by the Chinese community to Guyana's economic and social development and emphasized that Guyana China relationship is sincere, mutual benefit and fruitful. The Guyanese government will continue to support more Chinese enterprises in investing and establishing businesses in Guyana, thereby contributing to the country's economic growth and social transformation.
