DALLAS - Dallas ISD is expanding STEM opportunities through a new STEM Leadership Workshop Series in partnership with the National Math and Science Initiative and the Texas Instruments Foundation. Beginning this school year, middle school counselors and media specialists will receive professional development designed to help students build confidence, connect with STEM professionals, and explore advanced coursework and future careers. The initiative aims to ensure students see STEM as a pathway that is both accessible and full of opportunity.

Carter High School band welcomes special musical guest
David W. Carter High School is welcoming musician Mike Clark Jr. at 5:30 p.m. tonight, Aug. 19, for a special visit with band students. The connection is especially meaningful, as the Carter band is featured in the background of one of Clark's songs. The visit will give students a unique opportunity to hear from Clark and learn more about his musical journey, creative process, and lessons learned navigating the music industry.
Career Institutes prepare students for careers that soar
Dallas ISD is marking National Aviation Week by opening classroom doors to showcasing the future of aerospace. At the district's state-of-the-art Career Institutes, students are training on flight simulators and mastering drone technology to jumpstart careers in aviation.
