Threshermen's Parade Update-Mill St. Bridge Closure

The City of Pontiac has been notified by KVCC that, due to some complications, the Mill St. Bridge will most likely not be open by the Threshermen's Parade, August 31, 2025. The City and the Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce have developed the following alternate plan for street closures to stage the parade. The parade route will remain the same.

Beginning Sunday, August 31 at 12:00 pm the following streets will be closed for parade staging:

  • Water St. from Vermillion St. to Mill St.
  • Court St. from Madison St. to Washington St.
  • Court St. from Washington St. to Water St.
  • Division St. from Washington St. to Water St.
  • Oak St. from Washington St. to Water St.
  • Plum St. from Washington St. to Water St.
  • City parking lot in 400 block of west Water St. (Connected to Bank of Pontiac conference center parking lot)
  • Parts of the train depot property.
  • Humiston Riverside Park parking lot.
  • Humiston Riverside Park and bandshell will be used for staging walkers and bands.

The parking lot across from the bandshell will remain open for affected residents to use for parking. The depot parking lot will remain open only for train customers. Vermillion St. and Washington St. will remain open.

The Chamber committee will be placing door hangar notices on affected residences. Those residents are asked not to park on the closed streets during staging times from noon until the parade clears, typically 2:30 pm. Residents are asked to park in their driveways, in the city lot and along Washington St. ###
