    MASSACHUSETTS AVE
    Police responded to a report of a disturbance on the 700 block of Massachusetts Ave. A store employee stated an individual they'd previously trespassed had pushed their way into the store. The suspect then entered an employee only section, behind the counter of the store and took three packs of cigarettes, opened one and began smoking a cigarette from the pack. The suspect, identified as Jordan Kimathi, 24, Unhoused, was placed under arrest and will be charged with 1 count of Unarmed Robbery, and 1 count of Trespass. Kimathi also had 6 active outstanding warrants from courts in Boston and Cambridge.

    Police responded to a report of a suspicious party on the 700 block of Main St. The reporting party stated that they observed two suspects vandalizing the rear of a restaurant.

    Police and Fire responded to a report of a suspicious metallic container placed on a curb on the 100 block of Plympton St. An investigation revealed the item was not hazardous, it was recovered and disposed of.

    Police responded to a report of a past hit and run on the 0 block of Peabody Ter. The reporting party stated while they were returning to their parked vehicle they noticed an individual looking at the vehicle. At that time, the reporting party discovered damage that was not previously there. The reporting party asked the individual watching if they hit their car, to which the individual replied that they didn't know. The individual then left into a neighboring building without exchanging any information.

    Police responded to a report of an assault on the 400 block of Massachusetts Ave. The victim stated they were sitting in the ticket counter, which is behind a glass window, when an unknown individual approached them. The individual yelled at them, struck the window with a closed fist, and pushed their arm in the opening at the bottom of the window in an attempt to hit the victim.

    Police responded to a report of shoplifting on the 800 block of Somerville Ave. The reporting party claims a shoplifter had not paid for all the items they had taken. Officers located the shoplifter, who had taken a set of baby wipes and a sponge valued at $3. Officers returned the merchandise and had the suspect sign a trespass order.

    Officers were on patrol when they observed a bicycle proceed through a red traffic light at the intersection of Main St and Windsor St. Officers attempted to stop the bicyclist in question and even pulled up alongside the bicyclist giving them an lawful order to pull over in an effort to identify the operator, which the bicyclist did not comply with. The operator of the bicycle then began riding on the sidewalk and in and out of green space and the wrong way up one way roads, in an effort to further obstruct their identity from officers. A short time later the bicyclist was physically stopped by patrol officers in the area. As a result of the aforementioned incident, James Obrien, 47, of Waltham was arrested and taken into custody for the following: one count Failure to Identify, two counts Failure to Stop (Red Light) and three counts Restricted Way.

    Officers were flagged down by a concerned citizen on the 1600 block of Massachusetts Ave. The reporting party then tells officers they received a phone call in which they believe they heard their soon to be ex-spouse crying. A different voice then stated that they had kidnapped their ex spouse and child and that they need to send them $25,000 or their ex spouse would begin to lose fingers. The reporting party then called their ex spouse asking if they were ok and asking for pictures. The reporting party observed that both their ex spouse and child were perfectly fine. A report was taken.

    Officers were on patrol when they observed a motor vehicle blocking the marked bicycle lane with its rear hazard lights activated on the 700 block of Massachusetts Ave. Officers conducted a traffic stop, during which it was learned the vehicle's registration was revoked due to lack of insurance. The operator of the vehicle was issued a citation for the bicycle lane violation and the owner of the vehicle, the operators parent, would be mailed a criminal application for an uninsured vehicle and revoked registration.

    Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle attempt to go down the wrong direction of a one-way road at the intersection of Massachusetts Ave and Wendell St. Officers conducted a traffic stop. When asked for a drivers license, the operator stated they did not have one. The operator was issued two citations: one count of Wrong Way Operation and one count of Operating Without a License.

    Officers were conducting a routine patrol at the intersection of Blackstone St & Western Ave when an inquiry on a vehicle yielded that the registered owner of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant from Lowell district court. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and identified the operator as the owner, Valery Gonzalez Rodriguez, 29, of Lawrence. Officers placed Rodriguez under arrest without incident.
