Whip Emmer joins Sharia Free America Caucus

WASHINGTON - As first reported by investigative journalist Laura Loomer, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) today announced that he is the newest member of the Sharia Free America Caucus, which was recently launched by Representatives Chip Roy (R-Texas) and Keith Self (R-Texas) to defend the American way of life against the rise of Sharia.

"Sharia is completely incompatible with the American way of life and threatens the very fabric of our society," said Whip Emmer. "It is radical, oppressive, and must never be allowed to gain a foothold in America. I'm thankful to Congressmen Roy and Self for leading this noble charge in the House and looking forward to working together to combat this danger."

Background:

Prohibiting Sharia in the United States has been a longstanding priority of Whip Emmer. In 2009, when Emmer served in the Minnesota State Legislature, he filed language to ban Sharia law from certain government services.
