I-75 resurfacing begins May 11 in Genesee County

DAVISON, Mich. -The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing approximately $6.9 million to resurface more than 4 miles of I-75 in each direction between US-23 and Court Street in Genesee County. Work will include hot-mix asphalt cold milling and resurfacing, shoulder corrugations and pavement markings.

Traffic Restrictions:
Traffic will be maintained with intermittent single- and double-lane closures as well as ramp closures as needed as work progresses throughout the project limits. Detours will be posted as necessary.

Lane closures will be removed on northbound I-75 on Fridays and on southbound I-75 on Sundays to accommodate seasonal traffic.

Jobs numbers:
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 58 jobs.

Safety benefit:
This work will extend the lifespan of the roadway and increase safety for motorists. Lane, and ramp closures are necessary to ensure the safety of motorists and workers.
