WASHINGTON, D.C. - American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) President and CEO Chet Thompson issued the following statement regarding EPA's transmission of four California waivers to Congress for review under the Congressional Review Act:
"AFPM applauds EPA for fulfilling the agency's statutory obligation to transmit four additional California waiver rules to Congress for review under the Congressional Review Act. We now urge Congress to move swiftly to halt California's unlawful attempts to limit consumer choice and undermine our nation's energy security. Previous EPAs simply had no authority to grant California waivers to establish fuel economy standards for much of the country or ban gasoline-powered cars, trucks and offroad engines for millions of Americans."
The American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) is the leading trade association representing the makers of the fuels that keep us moving, the petrochemicals that are the essential building blocks for modern life, and the midstream companies that get our feedstocks and products where they need to go. We make the products that make life better, safer and more sustainable - we make progress.
