NEW YORK, NEW YORK - Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane has been elected to serve as Third Vice President of the District Attorneys Association of the State of New York (DAASNY). DA Keane was officially sworn in on Thursday morning at the DAASNY Winter Conference in New York City following his nomination by members of the association.
The District Attorneys Association of the State of New York is a not-for-profit organization representing prosecutors throughout the state. DAASNY promotes communication, cooperation, consultation and training for its members on matters concerning the prosecution of crimes. Members include District Attorneys from counties across the state as well as the New York State Attorney General, the New York City Special Narcotics Prosecutor, and the New York State Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.
As Vice President, District Attorney Keane will serve as a member of the DAASNY Executive Committee. This appointment positions DA Keane to serve as a future President of the organization. DA Keane has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2025.
