Hulu Adds "Handsome," "The Mess Around," "Prison Breaking," and "That Was Us" to Podcast Slate Beginning This Month

Complements Growing Companion Podcasts on Disney+ and Hulu

Today, Hulu announced the addition of four new podcasts - "Handsome," "The Mess Around," "Prison Breaking," and "That Was Us" - to its growing library of licensed and companion podcasts. Following the recent debut of "We're Here to Help" from Jake Johnson and Gareth Reynolds, this expansion brings extensive new and library episodes to the streamer exclusively before they are available on other platforms. With new episodes streaming weekly, all podcasts will roll out on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S. beginning with "The Mess Around" on April 19.

"These podcasts have each built such a passionate fanbase, and we look forward to bringing them to an even broader audience on Hulu," said Lauren Tempest, General Manager, Hulu & EVP, DTC Content Partnerships. "Podcasts have become a strategic part of our content offering and as the lineup continues to grow, we'll stay creator first and focus on delivering buzzy shows that drive cultural conversation."

These new licensed additions join a growing slate of companion podcasts tied to Disney+ and Hulu's most popular series, including "Dancing with the Stars," "American Idol," "Paradise," "Percy Jackson and the Olympians," "Tell Me Lies," FX's "Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette," and Marvel Television's "Daredevil: Born Again."

The addition of "Handsome," "The Mess Around," and "That Was Us" builds on Hulu's collaboration with podcast network Headgum and follows the successful launch of "We're Here to Help" in February.

"Each of these shows has a special relationship with its audience, and we're excited to help grow their fanbases even further with an incredible, talent-first collaborator like Hulu," said Kaiti Moos, VP, Content at Headgum. "This next chapter allows us to expand, while staying true to existing fans and preserving the experience they love."

"Handsome" is a GLAAD Award-winning comedy podcast from Tig Notaro ("Star Trek," "The Morning Show," "Zootopia 2"), Fortune Feimster ("FUBAR," "The Mindy Project," "Zootopia 2"), and Mae Martin ("Wayward," "Feel Good," "Zootopia 2"). Each week, the hosts field a question from a guest and attempt to answer it together, covering an eclectic mix of topics. Along the way, they share stories, riff on each other, and generally have a ridiculous time.

"That Was Us" is produced by Rabbit Grin Productions.

"Prison Breaking With Sarah & Paul"
Premieres April 28

The on-screen adversaries and real-life friends share never-before-heard stories from filming and welcome guests including actors, directors, and writers from the show's five seasons. They answer fan questions, run contests, and explore how television-and culture-has evolved since the series premiered in 2005.

"Sarah and I started this podcast during the strike because we thought it would be fun to include the Prison Break fandom in what we enjoyed doing together-sharing thoughts and memories about the show and talking about how TV has and hasn't changed in the intervening years," said Paul Adelstein. "It's great that so many fans have tuned in to rewatch and talk with us, and being on Hulu means even more fans can do just that. As a new chapter of Prison Break gets ready to launch, we love that fans have a place to hear about and experience the show from the very beginning."

Hulu recently ordered a "Prison Break" reboot to series from Elgin James. All episodes will stream on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S. and premiere on Disney+ internationally.
