UToledo Health is hosting its annual Cancer Survivorship Celebration on Tuesday, June 9, honoring the strength, courage and resilience of cancer survivors and those currently fighting the disease.

The event takes place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Four Seasons Bistro inside the University of Toledo Medical Center, 3000 Arlington Ave.

Ringing the bell at the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center is a milestone celebrating the end of treatment. UToledo Health will honor the strength and resilience of all cancer survivors and fighters at its annual celebration dinner on Tuesday, June 9.

June is recognized as National Cancer Survivors Month, making the timing of the celebration a meaningful recognition of the cancer community's journey. According to the American Cancer Society, the five-year relative survival rate for all cancers combined has reached a historic milestone of 70%.

"Bringing survivors and fighters together creates a powerful sense of community where encouragement, support and camaraderie can be shared among people who truly understand the experience," said Chris Seilhamer, administrative director at the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center. "These meaningful connections inspire hope, foster healing and remind every survivor and fighter that they are never alone."

The evening will include a full dinner, beverages and desserts, along with music, a photo booth, survivor stories, comments from UToledo Health cancer specialists, informational displays about available services and support, and giveaways.

The Dana Cancer Center offers comprehensive, personalized cancer care for any type or stage of disease, including the latest targeted therapies, genetic counseling and access to clinical trials, supported by a full range of patient services.

Free parking is available in Area 42 outside the George Isaac Minimally Invasive Surgery Center entrance. Guests may park in visitor or employee spaces, but must register their vehicle online via ParkUToledo prior to the event.
