St. Pete Reminds Residents Sandbags Available Year-Round, Encourages Participation in Second Saturday Distribution Event

September 10, 2025 - With hurricane season nearing its peak, the City of St. Petersburg will host a sandbag distribution event on Saturday, Sept. 13, and encourages residents to pick up sandbags before a hurricane threatens our community.

As a reminder, sandbags are available throughout the year at the Pavement and Traffic Operations Building, 1744 9th Ave. N. Regular distribution hours are Monday - Friday and the second Saturday of the month from 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Each household can receive a maximum of 10 sandbags, and residents must provide proof of St. Petersburg residency to pick up their sandbags. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions.

More information on how to properly use sandbags and upcoming sandbag distribution events is available on the City's website at https://www.stpete.org/Sandbags
