MEMA ALERT: Flood Advisory In Effect For Lana?i Until 10:30 PM HST This Evening
MEMA Alert...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM HST THIS EVENING FOR THE ISLAND OF LANAI IN MAUI COUNTY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.
* WHERE...The island of Lanai in Maui County.
* WHEN...Until 1030 PM HST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 727 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over Lanai with
rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Rainfall is expected to
continue for several hours as additional rainfall continues
to move over the island from the southwest.
- This advisory includes the entire island of Lanai.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
A Flood Watch is also in effect for Maui County through Friday
afternoon.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 1030 PM HST if flooding
persists.
