On December 23, Ambassador Yin Chengwu attended the launching ceremony of the activity of "Working Together to Make Road Safer in Liberia" held at the Liberian National Police Headquarters and donated a batch of motorcycle helmets to Liberia. Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh, Minister of Justice, Hon. Jerolinmek Matthew Piah, Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs & Tourism, Hon. Gregory O.W. Coleman, Inspector General of Liberia National Police, and Mr. John Cayon, President of Motorcycle Union of Liberia attended.
Ambassador Yin said that the donation aims to work with the Liberian side to make road safer in Liberia and raise the awareness of traffic safety among the Liberian people. This cooperation is a strong support to the development agenda of the Liberian government and an important step to implement the outcomes of the meeting between the heads of state of China and Liberia. China will work with the Liberia side to continue to deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries for the common benefit of the two peoples.
Hon. Jerolinmek Matthew Piah, Hon. Gregory O.W. Coleman and Mr. John Cayon highly appreciated the donation from China, thanked China for its long-term selfless assistance, and said that helmets will be distributed free of charge to the people of Liberia so that to make road safer.
