Portion of East Franklin Road to close for pipe repair beginning March 16, 2026

Beginning March 16, 2026, City of Norman Public Works crews will begin replacing a damaged stormwater pipe under East Franklin Road, located just west of the intersection of 84th Avenue NE. The repairs are expected to take approximately five days to complete, weather permitting.
During this time, East Franklin Road NE will be closed to through traffic between 72nd Avenue NE and 84th Avenue NE to allow crews to safely perform the stormwater pipe replacement.
A detour route will be in place directing motorists to 72nd Avenue NE, Indian Hills Road, and 84th Avenue NE. Traffic control signs will be posted to guide drivers around the closure.
Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and use caution when traveling near the work area.
