Redwood City - San Mateo County is inviting businesses of all sizes to a Vendor Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 17, where participants can meet with County staff and get guidance on the contracting process.
The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 555 County Center in downtown Redwood City.
The County contracts for a wide range of services and goods that include technology, parks equipment and sustainability projects and social services.
Vendors will be able to stop by booths staffed by County departments, ask questions about the types of services and goods the County purchases and get practical advice on working with the County.
Topics include getting registered with the County's eProcurement platform, OpenGov, guidance on navigating the procurement process and assistance on how to register as a small or micro business.
"Building relationships with businesses strengthens our community and ensures the County can provide the best possible services to residents," said Jas Sandhar, the County's director of procurement. "This fair is designed to demystify the process and open the door for more businesses to work with us."
Admission and parking are free. Attendees must register in advance.
Parking permits are available by printing the order confirmation page or by picking one up at the Procurement table on the day of the event.
