Congresswoman Nancy Mace Issues Statement on Carolina Day

CHARLESTON, SC. (June 28, 2026) - Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC-01) issued the following statement on the 250th anniversary of Carolina Day:

"On June 28, 1776, South Carolina patriots stood their ground on Sullivan's Island, outnumbered and unwilling to back down.

"The Battle of Sullivan's Island was one of the first great American victories of the Revolutionary War. It showed the world Americans would stand their ground, defend their freedom, and never bow to a foreign power.

"250 years later, this day serves as a stark reminder of who we are and what we are made of. South Carolina has never backed down. We never will.

"We will always hold the line."

Congresswoman Mace will speak at the Carolina Day celebration at Fort Moultrie today, recognizing the Battle of Sullivan's Island alongside her constituents.
