Ministry of Foreign Affairs' actions in the current tense situation in the Middle East

Given the current tense situation in the Middle East and the potential for an escalation and expansion of hostilities impacting civilians, including Thai nationals, residing in the region, the Ministry has taken immediate actions thus far, which include the following:

1. The Ministry is in constant contact with Thai embassies in the region to monitor and assess the situation and keep Thai citizens in the area fully informed of developments through warnings, advice and a hotline, and

2. The Ministry has established a Situation/War Room to closely monitor and assess the situation and to prepare all necessary assistance for Thai citizens in affected areas, including evacuation plans as needed. A 24-hour Consular Affairs Center has also been established for urgent assistance (Consular Affairs Department Call Center: 0-2572-8442).

Thai nationals without urgent business in the area are strongly advised to reconsider travel to the region at this time.
