Get Involved: The City of Poughkeepsie Is Looking for Volunteers to Help Shape Our Community

We're currently seeking dedicated community members to serve on the following:

• Zoning Board of Appeals

• Waterfront Advisory Committee

• Historic District & Landmark Preservation Commission

• Planning Board

• Industrial Development Agency (IDA)

• Dutchess County/City of Poughkeepsie Land Bank

These groups help guide decisions on planning, development, preservation, housing, and economic growth. Whether you care about smart development, historic preservation, equitable housing, or strengthening our economy, there's a place for your voice and expertise.

We kindly ask that you do not contact the Mayor or members of the Common Council directly regarding your application. Selected candidates will be contacted for interviews.

Application requirements:

• For the Zoning Board of Appeals, Historic District & Landmark Preservation Commission, and Planning Board: Please submit a resume and a letter of interest.

• For the Waterfront Advisory Committee, Industrial Development Agency (IDA), and Land Bank: Please submit a letter of interest.

Applicants must currently reside in the City of Poughkeepsie to be considered.
