We, the Foreign Ministers and high-level representatives of Australia, France, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, Republic of Korea, United Kingdom, met today at the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York to discuss key issues of mutual interest in Europe and the Indo-Pacific.
We are united by shared values, interests and principles such as open, free and fair trade, fundamental freedoms, the rule of law at the national and international level, democracy, sovereignty, and human rights. We face common security challenges in Europe, which is also facing an ongoing war, and the Indo-Pacific in areas such as maritime security, cybersecurity, hybrid threats, economic security, and climate change as well as geopolitical uncertainties. Noting that the peace, security and resilience in the Indo-Pacific and Europe are becoming more intertwined, it is important that we continue to collaborate on these shared challenges.
It is in our common interest to promote sustainable economic growth and prosperity, to maintain peace and security, stability and to strengthen the international order based on the UN Charter and international law.
