The Iowa City Senior Center will host a University of Iowa DeGowin Blood Center blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Assembly Room.
All blood collected during the drive will support patients at UI Health Care and UI Stead Family Children's Hospital. Whole blood donations take approximately 45 to 60 minutes to complete.
Donors are asked to bring a photo ID, drink plenty of fluids, and eat a good meal before donating. Donors should be free of cold or flu symptoms for five days prior to donation and should bring a list of current medications, as well as a list of any international travel within the past three years.
