Students are invited to apply for Marquette's 2026 Civil Rights Pilgrimage and visit locations across the U.S. South where significant events in the Civil Rights Movement occurred. The pilgrimage will begin the morning of Sunday, May 17, and end the night of Saturday, May 23.

Undergraduate participants can satisfy their core curriculum ESSV2 requirement through attending the pilgrimage.

Over this week-long trip, participants will visit museums, churches, memorials and parks and meet with Civil Rights Movement veterans and community historians. Locations will include Ferguson, Missouri; Memphis, Tennessee; Mound Bayou, Jackson, and Meridian, Mississippi; and Selma and Montgomery, Alabama.

The participation fee is $300. If additional financial assistance is necessary, indicate so in the application.

Contact Chris Jeske, associate director of the Center for Peacemaking, with any questions. More information, including travel diaries from previous trips, is available online.
