Congressman Pfluger Welcomes Permian Basin Honor Flight to DC

WASHINGTON, DC - The Permian Basin Honor Flight traveled to Washington, DC, last week to recognize and honor local veterans for their service and sacrifice to our nation. The trip provided these heroes with the opportunity to visit the very memorials built in their honor and reflect on their legacy alongside fellow veterans and volunteers.

Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) proudly welcomed the group at the start of their visit, greeting them at the World War II Memorial on the National Mall. He was joined by Midland Mayor Lori Blong at the Memorial to lay a wreath, personally thank the veterans for their service, and share brief remarks.

"It was an absolute honor to welcome the Permian Basin Honor Flight to our nation's capital," said Congressman Pfluger. "These veterans are who inspired me and my generation to serve, and being able to thank them face-to-face was incredibly meaningful. This trip is all about giving them the recognition they've long earned, and I'm grateful to everyone who made it possible."

During their time in the nation's capital, veterans visited several national memorials across Washington, including the Vietnam War Memorial and the Korean War Memorial, among others. Honor Flight programs nationwide continue to play a vital role in ensuring veterans are recognized and celebrated for their service.
