DALLAS - Families are invited to attend Discover Dallas ISD at 9 a.m., tomorrow, Nov. 1, at the Automobile Building in Fair Park. A one-stop shop to explore all that Dallas ISD has to offer, the event will feature hands-on STEM activities, animals from the district's Environmental Education Center, drone and robotics showcases, and floral arrangements families can take home. Guests will be able to enjoy free food prepared by culinary students, and experience the innovation, creativity, and spirit that make our schools shine.

Lorenzo De Zavala Elementary School unveiled a new book vending machine this morning, Oct. 31. Students who achieve academic goals will receive a token they can use in exchange for a free book of their choice. Thanks to a partnership between Dallas Education Foundation and Atmos Energy, this exciting addition sparks a love of reading by giving students greater access to books and encouraging lifelong learning. Another book vending machine will be unveiled at William Anderson Elementary School at 9 a.m., Monday, Nov. 3.

Teachers to receive lifesaving resources
Dallas ISD and UT Southwestern Medical Center are launching a transformative partnership to prepare students with lifesaving CPR skills. Starting at 5 p.m., Monday, Nov. 3, health teachers from across the district will gather at Franklin D. Roosevelt High School High School of Innovation for specialized CPR training, equipping them to bring this critical instruction into classrooms. By embedding CPR education into the school day, this initiative will build a new generation of first responders ready to take action.
