New parking ramp at 1st and 1st West now open

The new Parking Ramp at 1st and 1st West is now substantially complete, and has opened to the public.

Additional cosmetic touches and landscaping will continue through spring.

Located between 1st and 3rd Street SW between 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue, the parking ramp is part of the 1st and 1st West/Kingston Yard development. Its entrance is located on 2nd Avenue, and cars exit the ramp onto 3rd Street SW.

The parking ramp features distinctive "Kingston Yard" and "Cedar Rapids" signage along its roof, making it easily visible to visitors from Interstate 380.

In addition to supplying needed parking, the multi-level structure will incorporate public amenities that support the area. Features include:

  • Five-level facility
  • 450 parking spaces (10 electric)
  • Multiple elevators and heated stairways
  • Bicycle parking
Due to construction from the neighboring hotel, 2nd Avenue SW is closed to through traffic. Wayfinding signage has been placed to direct users to the main entrance of the parking ramp.

Users can pay for parking at pay stations on the first floor; scan QR codes located on signs throughout the ramp, which direct users to the Park CR app; or by calling 877-727-5989. The parking rate for the new ramp is 75 cents per hour.
