Statement by Senator Warren on Trump Attack on the City of Boston's Efforts to Build More Homes and Lower Costs for All

Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, released the following statement on the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) investigation into Boston's efforts to address the nation's worsening housing crisis:

"Instead of addressing our nation's housing crisis, the Trump Administration is weaponizing the very civil rights laws they are trying to dismantle to launch a baseless investigation into the City of Boston's efforts to build more housing and bring down costs. If the Trump Administration is serious about addressing housing discrimination, it should respond to the mounting backlog of pending civil rights complaints and reinstate federal funding for fair housing enforcement."
