The holidays are in full swing and many of us utilize online stores for gifts and package deliveries. Along with that comes package thefts that plague many communities.

The following is suggested to help reduce the chance of a package being stolen from your front porch if you are not home to receive it:

  • Security doorbells that have video capability.
  • Have deliveries sent to place of employment (if possible) or to a neighbor if they will be home.
  • Track your deliveries for a timely pickup.
  • Have deliveries sent to a local store for pickup.
  • Deliveries that require a signature.

SPD was recently made aware of some package thefts where the suspect/s were observed wearing clothing that indicated "Amazon" and the department is looking into the issue. Amazon does not employ delivery drivers as the service is contracted out.

If you happen to become a victim of a package theft, please contact Crime Check at .
