Ciscomani Releases Statement on House Passage of the Continuing Resolution

WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Congressman Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06) released the following statement after voting for H.R. 5371, the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026:

"Today, House Republicans proved their commitment to do the responsible thing: keeping the government open. I voted against shutting the government down because I know that it impacts real people, real jobs, and real kitchen tables in my district and across our nation. Just in Arizona's 6th congressional district, that would be an impact to services for nearly 80,000 veterans, thousands of federal employees who could be furloughed, including our Border Patrol agents, air traffic controllers, park rangers, services for our seniors, and others. What we passed today is a temporary seven-week clean CR that will allow us to continue negotiating full-year appropriations bills," Congressman Ciscomani said. "Let's be clear, every single Democrat who voted against this clean CR voted for a government shutdown. As a member of the Appropriations Committee - we fulfilled our duty when we passed all 12 funding bills through committee. I am committed to pursuing common-sense solutions on the issues impacting our nation and delivering tangible results for southeastern Arizonans."
