Community Foundation of Louisville's 12th Annual Event Breaks New Records, Raising Nearly $10.5 million for Kentuckiana Nonprofits
LOUISVILLE, Ky., (September 20, 2025) - On Thursday, September 19, thousands of generous donors across Kentuckiana came together to make history during the Community Foundation of Louisville's 12th annual Give for Good Louisville campaign. The region's largest day of giving shattered four all-time records, raising an astounding $10.47 million through 49,664 gifts from 26,219 donors-all in support of local nonprofits, educational institutions and religious organizations.
"Organizations truly form the heartbeat of Kentuckiana, and achieving this unprecedented milestone-surpassing every previous record despite the significant funding obstacles our nonprofit community has encountered this year-stands as a testament to the remarkable generosity that defines our region," remarked Ron Gallo, President & CEO of the Community Foundation of Louisville. "We are deeply grateful to our donors, partners, and organizations for their unwavering commitment and investment in making our community stronger."
Community Foundation of Louisville reported that this year's campaign saw participation from 645 organizations, a 9% increase from 2024. Each received a $125 cash prize thanks to the generosity of the Sam Swope Family, this year's Premier Prize Partner. Additional prize pool partners-including Churchill Downs Inc., Derby City Gaming & Hotel, Brown-Forman, Caesars Foundation of Floyd County and others-helped hundreds of organizations earn thousands more in bonus funding.
The "Greatest Two Minutes in Giving" sponsored by Churchill Downs returned for its fourth year. Six donors were chosen at random to receive a "Win", "Place", or "Show" prize of $20,000, $10,000, or $5,000 to boost their donations during the giving day.
Kentucky Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice claimed the biggest prize of the day during Churchill Downs' Greatest Two Minutes in Giving, earning $20,000 for their organization.
During every hour of Give for Good Louisville, a lucky donation was randomly selected to receive a $1,000 Derby City Gaming Golden Ticket.
"The support that this day brings to the nonprofit community in our city is so valuable," said Mark Whitten, Director of Community Relations at Churchill Downs Incorporated. "We are proud to be a partner of Give for Good Louisville because it truly makes Louisville a better place."
Since 2014, Give for Good Louisville has raised more than $80 million for participating organizations in Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer and Bullitt Counties in Kentucky, and Clark, Floyd and Harrison Counties in Indiana.
