NFC September Players of the Month

NEW YORK - Oct. 1, 2026 - San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, New York Giants safety Jevón Holland and Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Myles Price are the NFC Players of the Month for September (Weeks 1-3).

OFFENSE: QB BROCK PURDY, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

  • Purdy completed 60-of-83 pass attempts (72.3 percent) for 789 yards and had 10 touchdowns (nine passing, one rushing) and one interception. He leads the NFL with a 133.1 passer rating and is tied for first with nine touchdown passes. Purdy is the only quarterback with multiple touchdown passes and a passer rating of 100-or-higher in each of the first three weeks. In Week 2, Purdy became the first player in NFL history to complete at least 90 percent of his pass attempts (90.9 percent, 20 of 22), pass for at least 285 yards (287) and two touchdowns and have a rushing touchdown in the same game.
  • This is Purdy's first career Player of the Month award. He joins Pro Football Hall of Famers Steve Young (six-time winner) and Joe Montana (November, 1989) as well as Jeff Garcia (November, 2001) as the only 49ers quarterbacks to earn the honor.
  • Purdy becomes the second former Iowa State player to win an Offensive Player of the Month award, joining David Archer (September, 1986).

DEFENSE: S JEVÓN HOLLAND, NEW YORK GIANTS

  • Holland totaled 12 tackles, four passes defensed, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in Weeks 1-3. He is tied for the league lead in interceptions and is the only player this season with an interception in each of his team's three games. Holland's four takeaways are the most by an NFL player in their team's first three games of a season since Marcus Peters (four takeaways in 2016 with Kansas City). He is just the second player since 2000 (Kyle Fuller in 2014 with Chicago) with at least three interceptions and two forced fumbles in his team's first three games of a season.
  • This is Holland's first Defensive Player of the Month award. He is the eighth Giants player to earn the honor and the first since Landon Collins (November, 2016). Collins and Holland are the only Giants safeties to win the award.
  • Holland joins DeForest Buckner (December, 2020) as the second former Oregon player to earn a Defensive Player of the Month award.

SPECIAL TEAMS: WR MYLES PRICE, MINNESOTA VIKINGS

  • Price led the league in kickoff return yards (353), punt return yards (130), total return yards (483) and punt return touchdowns (one). His 483 total return yards are the most by a player through his team's first three games of a season since Josh Cribbs (488 return yards in 2007 with Cleveland). In Week 3, Price's 86-yard punt return for a touchdown helped the Vikings, one of two undefeated teams in the NFC, improve to 3-0. Price is the only NFL player this season and the first Vikings player since Marcus Sherels (2016) to return a punt for a touchdown.
  • This is Price's first Special Teams Player of the Month award. He joins Percy Harvin (September, 2012) and Cordarrelle Patterson (September, 2013) as the only Vikings wide receivers to earn the honor.
  • Price becomes the third former Indiana player to win a Player of the Month award, joining Courtney Roby (September, 2010) and Pete Stoyanovich (December, 1997).
