Amazon invests $235 million to bring more clean water to Oregon communities
Amazon is investing $235 million in two Oregon surface water supply projects that will replace aging infrastructure and help conserve groundwater in Umatilla County's Critical Groundwater Areas. The investments include $144.5 million for the City of Umatilla's new Columbia River facility and $90.6 million for two Port of Morrow treatment plants, with Amazon data centers using only 5% of the combined capacity while 95% serves regional industrial and municipal needs. These projects support Amazon's commitment to be water positive by 2030, returning more water to communities than used in data center operations.
Alexa+ can now order delivery through Grubhub and Uber Eats
Alexa+ now enables natural, conversational food ordering through Grubhub and Uber Eats. Users can browse menus, customize orders, ask questions, and make changes in real-time without rigid back-and-forth exchanges. The system adapts to ordering tasks specifically, displaying changes on-screen while allowing continuous conversation. Prime members get Grubhub+ benefits including $0 delivery fees.
How Prime members can save $0.20 per gallon on fuel every Friday this spring
From April 3 through May 29, Prime members can save $0.20 per gallon every Friday during Fuel-up Fridays at participating stations. Prime members currrently save $0.10 per gallon year-round at more than 7,500 bp, Amoco, and participating ampmand Thorntons locations. With Amazon Family, households can earn combined savings of $0.40 per gallon by making two fuel transactions with separate earnify accounts.
Amazon Leo to power in-flight Wi-Fi for Delta Air Lines starting in 2028
Amazon and Delta Air Lines announced a major partnership to bring Amazon Leo satellite technology to Delta's fleet starting in 2028. Leo will provide high-speed, low-latency Wi-Fi on 500 Delta aircraft initially, with free access for all SkyMiles members. The technology uses thousands of satellites positioned 370 miles above Earth-50 times closer than traditional systems-enabling download speeds up to 1 Gbps and upload speeds up to 400 Mbps. This collaboration builds on Delta's existing relationship with AWS and aims to transform the travel experience for tens of millions of annual Delta passengers with gate-to-gate connectivity comparable to ground-based internet networks.
