The AGH University Student Research Club SocTech has carried out a study among AGH University students to observe the role of generative language models in the learning process. The main question was: "How do different groups of students use GPT in education?" The results have been presented in the form of a report.
The analysis involved questions on which groups of students use GPT models the most, taking into account their discipline, and for what tasks, such as writing essays, making presentations, analysing data, the models are used. In-depth investigation has allowed the club's members to identify the disciplines and types of tasks most susceptible to potentially unethical use of GPT by students.
Key results:
"The report shows how generative technologies change academic daily life, the way students learn, and how integrity in science is perceived," say its authors. "We believe that the results can inspire further discussion on the role of AI in academic education and university policies on new technologies."
The study and the report were possible due to financial support in the form of a Rector's Grant (editions 2024 and 2025).
The publication is available at ResearchGate (only in Polish).
