Written Reply by Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing to Parliamentary Question on IPPT Results of NSmen on 2 Mar 2026

Mr Fadli Fawzi asked the Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Minister for Defence in each of the last 10 years, what percentage of NSmen who take the Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) obtained a (a) Pass, (b) Pass with Incentive, (c) Silver, and (d) Gold, respectively, on their first attempt, broken down by age group.

Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Minister for Defence, Mr Chan Chun Sing:

1. Over the last 10 years, the IPPT passing rate for NSmen has remained stable, and are similar across age groups.

2. Among those who attempted IPPT, the proportion of NSmen who achieved Gold or Silver Awards is about 35%; those who achieved Pass with Incentive is about 35%; and those who achieved a Pass is about 15%. The percentages have been relatively stable across the years since 2017.
