10.07.2025
Tripoli
Press and information team of the EU Delegation to LIBYA

Amid reports of ongoing military build-up in and around Tripoli, the EU Delegation and the diplomatic missions of EU Member States in Libya join UNSMIL in urging all parties to urgently de-escalate, resolve conflicts peacefully, and uphold the ceasefire and the agreed security arrangements.

We reiterate our call on all Libyan actors to ensure the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure from harm, in accordance with international law. We also reaffirm our commitment to accountability for all acts that threaten peace, civilian safety, harm the national institutions or the integrity of the political process.

The EU stands ready to support efforts to de-escalate tensions. We urge all parties to engage in constructive dialogue with the support of @UNSMILibya.
