Suspect Wanted by the Eighth District for Aggravated Assault
New Orleans Police are asking the public's assistance with locating a suspect wanted for aggravated assault on a peace officer.
Wanted is James "Obie" Gum (pictured), White male, DOB 11/27/1984. He is known to frequent the area of the lower French Quarter.
According to investigators, on March 23, 2025 near the intersection of Barracks Street and French Market Place James "Obie" Gum committed three counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer.
Anyone with information regarding the crime or the whereabouts of James "Obie" Gum is asked to call Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080 or to anonymously call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
