On February 22, 2026, just after 7:00 a.m., North District General Patrol officers responded to a housing complex in the 500 block of Dufferin Avenue for the report of a fire in a suite.
Responding officers learned that one of the tenants had fled to her neighbour's residence and after setting a fire near a couch within her suite. Police were then contacted. Arriving officers located a woman believed to have started the fire nearby and arrested her without incident. No injuries were reported.
A 29-year-old womanfaces charges of Arson with Disregard for Human Life and Arson Causing Damage to Property.
She was released on an Appearance Notice.
