Unlocking the value of AI without compromising trust or sovereignty was at the heart of the recent AUT Technology in Society Event.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Damon Salesa, hosted a panel of experts to understand approaches, accountability and organisational shifts needed to really gain local advantage from technology controlled by international tech giants.

The expert panel:

  • Matt Bain, Chief Technology and AI Officer, Spark New Zealand
  • Megan Tapsell, GM Enterprise & Pacific Technology Delivery NZ, ANZ
  • Reuben Bijl, Managing Director, Smudge

The AUT Technology in Society speaker series is part of AUT's approach to understanding and harnessing AI and emerging technologies and their impact on our work, lives, and future - and helping students, staff and the public do the same.
