Standing Order 26-1 Electronic Access to Sealed Documents and Service of Sealed Documents

Tuesday, April 21, 2026

On April 21, 2026, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Kansas issued Standing Order 26-1 restricting electronic access to sealed documents beginning April 21, 2026.

Sealed documents will continue to be filed in CM/ECF under existing procedures (see D. Kan. LBR 5005.1 Appx. 1-01, ΒΆ VI, and https://www.ksb.uscourts.gov/how-electronically-file-sealed-documents). A party with the right to access a sealed document can still request a paper copy by contacting the Clerk's Office. Because sealed documents filed in CM/ECF will no longer be accessible or viewable electronically, service cannot be accomplished through CM/ECF. Parties must serve sealed documents by other appropriate means as provided by the Federal Rules of Procedure or as otherwise provided by the court. The court will serve and notice sealed documents in paper by mail.

A copy of Standing Order 26-1 is available on the court's website at https://www.ksb.uscourts.gov/standinggeneral-orders.

You can contact the Clerk's Office with questions by calling the telephone numbers posted at https://www.ksb.uscourts.gov.
