Family-owned diamond, jewellery and watch retailer, Beaverbrooks, has announced it will continue its longstanding tradition of Boxing Day closures for all 83 Beaverbrooks Group stores across the UK - and is urging fellow retailers to follow suit.
As the busy festive period approaches, the retailer remains committed to its people by giving them the day off to spend time with loved ones. As well as standing firm with the Boxing Day closure, Beaverbrooks will continue its tradition of gifting colleagues an additional week's salary in December, as a thank you for their dedication throughout the year.
For 2025, Beaverbrooks has also created 50 seasonal roles across its head office and selected stores nationwide.
Anna Blackburn, Managing Director at Beaverbrooks, said,
"Strong family values are at the heart of our business, and so we want to give our wonderful colleagues some much-deserved time to relax and connect with friends and family after a busy festive period.
"We believe that putting our colleagues first in every decision we make is key to creating a stronger, more engaged workforce, which helps our people to deliver exceptional levels of customer service. Hopefully we inspire other businesses to follow in our footsteps this year.
"We're also delighted to be welcoming seasonal recruits to support our teams through the festive period. Their contribution will be invaluable in helping us to deliver the outstanding service and experience our customers expect during our busiest time of year."
