As artificial intelligence accelerates its impact on the audiovisual sector, questions around creators' rights, income and ownership are moving to the forefront of global debate.
Against this backdrop, CISAC and DASC will host the Audiovisual Creators' Panel, AI and the Economic Future of Audiovisual Authors: Why Regulation Matters, in Cartagena, Colombia, on 16 April 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., alongside the Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias (FICCI).
The event forms part of CISAC's Global Creators Dialogues - Centenary Series.
The session will explore the economic impact of AI on audiovisual creators, the growing need for balanced regulation, and the role of collective management organisations in managing rights in the AI ecosystem. It will also present key insights from CISAC's global study on the economic impact of AI in the audiovisual industry.
