Preparing Alaskans for Training in Healthcare (PATH) Academy

The Alaska AHEC is launching a pilot of the new hybrid Preparing Alaskans for Training in Healthcare (PATH) Academy curriculum in the month of May. This training is designed for Alaskans aged 16 and above, offering a powerful gateway to explore potential career opportunities in healthcare.

This hands-on training equips participants with essential skills and five nationally recognized clinical certifications. Program graduates become prime candidates for entry-level healthcare employment or apprenticeships. Upon completion, participants are directly connected with network employment specialists for dedicated job and apprenticeship placement assistance. Most of the content is provided in an asynchronous format with in-person sessions occurring on Saturdays through the month of May to earn industry recognized certifications.

Nationally recognized certifications earned:

  • Basic Life Support CPR (this is a provider-level training, distinguishing it from regular CPR)
  • Mental Health First Aid
  • First Aid
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Mandt De-escalation Training

Event location - 1901 Bragaw St. basement classroom
Event date - Saturdays through the month of May
Event start time - 9 a.m.
Event end time - 5 p.m.
