Weather Alert – California Wildfires – January 9, 2025

Southern California remains under a critical fire risk as another round of Santa Ana winds is expected Thursday night into Friday morning, fueling five rapidly spreading wildfires that have already destroyed thousands of structures and displaced over 100,000 residents. Low humidity levels, critically dry vegetation, and gusty winds continue to create dangerous fire conditions, with red flag and high wind warnings in effect through Friday afternoon. An air quality alert has also been issued for the Los Angeles area due to heavy wildfire smoke and airborne dust. While winds are calmer than Wednesday's extreme gusts of over 100 mph, forecasters warn that weaker wind events over the weekend and early next week could reignite fire dangers.

One fuel terminal in the area has been shut down due to wildfire-related conditions, further complicating operations. Carriers in the direct path of the fires are operating remotely to ensure safety, which is causing delays and necessitating long-hauls from outer markets where conditions are safer. These adjustments may impact delivery times, but efforts are being made to mitigate disruptions as much as possible.

Mansfield appreciates your patience and understanding as we adapt to these challenging conditions. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as needed. If you have any questions or specific concerns about your deliveries, please don't hesitate to reach out to your dedicated account representative.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.
