1 Man Deceased in Stabbing Incident in Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood, 1 Detained

A suspect has been detained following a fatal stabbing incident in the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood.

On Sunday, July 13, 2025 at 3:19 p.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to East Precinct responded to a report of a stabbing inside a home in the 11400 block of Southeast Boise Street. When they arrived they found one adult male deceased at the scene.

At 4:03 p.m., officers made contact with an adult male suspect by phone and a short time later detained him nearby. No other suspects are currently being sought.

The Portland Police Homicide Unit is responding to the scene to investigate this case. During the investigation, Southeast Boise Street is closed between Southeast 114th Avenue and Southeast 116th Avenue.
