Schweikert and Biggs Spar Over Extremist Ties as Arizona GOP Primary Gets Even Uglier

As the GOP gubernatorial primary in Arizona gets nastier, a new report from AZ Family reveals that while "Rep. David Schweikert is accusing his primary opponent, Rep. Andy Biggs, of having ties to antisemites and white supremacists," his own campaign "reached out to one of those very groups earlier this year."

Schweikert "begged" a group that "pushes antisemitic and racist books" to speak at one of their events, pouring fuel on a red-hot primary race between two extremists more focused on slinging accusations than offering any solutions to lower costs for Arizona families.

Both congressmen voted multiple times for Trump's chaotic tariffs that are jacking up costs, and are staunch supporters of the GOP budget law that is tearing health care away from 365,000 Arizonans, threatening to close rural hospitals, and raising energy costs.

"While Schweikert and Biggs fight about who is more extreme, the reality is they share the same dangerous and harmful agenda for Arizona," said DGA Communications Director Sam Newton. "In addition to both having ties to extremist groups, they're both die-hard supporters of Trump's tariffs and budget law that gutted health care and raised costs. This messy race to the right will only serve to push them even further out of step with Arizonans, who are already struggling under their cost-raising agenda."
