State Auditor Lydia York Issues Audit of Federal Awards to State of Delaware

The Uniform Guidance Single Audit examined the $4.17 billion in federal funding awarded to the State of Delaware in fiscal year 2025

Dover, DE - State Auditor Lydia E. York issued the Uniform Guidance Single Audit report today. Auditors examined the $4.17 billion in federal funding awarded to the State of Delaware in fiscal year 2025 as required by the Single Audit Act of 1984.

Federal grants to Delaware in FY25 originated from 23 federal agencies and fund hundreds of State-run and staffed programs. The report includes 26 findings across four state agencies, including 15 findings that have repeated since last year's audit.

"Federal awards fund critical programs like Medicaid, unemployment insurance, substance abuse prevention, child nutrition, and more" said Auditor York. "Like so many other states, Delaware's federal support is under attack by the current administration. The Single Audit gives our State's leadership the tools they need to best serve Delawareans and protect the services they rely on.

"I am encouraged by the progress being made across State government to correct problems and make programs more efficient. However, repeat audit findings tell us that there is more work to be done. Our office will continue to follow up on findings, increase government transparency and provide lawmakers with the information they need."
